Horseback Riding in Monteverde

This outstanding tour takes place on an 80-hectare private farm with trails specially designed for horses. No previous experience is required for this activity, making it highly recommended for families with children.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque landscapes of the beautiful region, visit patches of secondary forest, open fields where you can see incredible sunsets (subject to weather conditions), grazing cattle, banana plantations, and spectacular views of the mountains and the Gulf of Nicoya, especially on sunny days.

It is a fun and relaxing experience in which you will learn a little about the area's nature, and immerse yourself in the local culture and way of life.

Important Notes: 

• 250 pounds is the maximum weight for this tour
• This tour is recommended for children 5 years and up. Children under 5 years must be accompanied by an adult. 
• Encountering wildlife is not guaranteed. Exploring the reserve with your guide will give you the best chance to spot some of the many species that inhabit the cloud forest, but ultimately you are venturing into the natural habitat of wild animals, whose behavior is impossible to predict with certainty.
