Bat Tour

Did you know there are more bats than birds in Costa Rica? And that there is a type of bat that resembles the movements of a hummingbird? This informative tour will elaborate on these questions, and teach many other interesting facts during a short guided walk through an indoor bat exhibition

This tour is the first of its kind in Latin America, as it focuses on the behavior and habits of these mammals and details, with a deep focus on their biology, their incredible behaviors of flight and echolocation, and the impact that bats have on nature and humans.

The exhibition features eight species of bats, just a small portion of the 85 species found in the Monteverde area, and gives you a chance to meet these often-feared creatures and understand what makes them so interesting and important. You can even listen to a high-tech  recording and speaker system to experience the bats’ echolocation yourself!
