What sort of bird watcher are you? Twitcher? Generalist? Beginner? Our bird watching tour adjusts to your expertise and tries to find your objective species. A local specialist guide will share all their knowledge and expertise on the Monteverde bird life. While here, you will have the opportunity to choose from the different trail heads in seven of Holdrege’s Life Zones: Tropical moist forest, Premontane moist forest, Premontane wet forest, Lower montane wet forest, Lower montane rain forest, Premontane rain forest, and Tropical wet forest. Monteverde’s geographic location, lay of terrain, and access to both Pacific and Atlantic slopes are key to allow Birders add many of our more than 400 species of birds.
Please take into consideration that some of our birds are seasonal, weather might have an impact on activity/sightings and time of day can make a significant difference. Notify your level of expertise prior to the beginning of the tour, bring binoculars, raincoat, a reusable water container, and wear appropriate dark clothing. A prior meeting with your assigned guide can be arranged to go over your objectives and to make proper decisions so you make the most from your visit.
